This 1813 engraving of a mediaeval memorial brass in the chancel of Clippesby Church is by John Sell Cotman.
It shows John Clippesby (d.1594) and Julian his wife; baby son William deceased (in shroud)
Three daughters Audry, Francis and Julian.

Ernest (Jimmy) Leggett, 1919 ~ 2001
whose childhood was spent in Clippesby and who wrote about it and his wartime experiences so evocatively in "A Boyhood in the Fleggs" (extracts here). Later Treasurer at St. Peter's Church. Member of the Dunkirk Veterans and editor of their journal. Jimmy always sounded the Last Post for us at Remembrance services.
