Burns Nights
Burns Night January 25th 2018
For the second year we held the Clippesby Church Burn's Night Celebration at Acle Bridge Inn. As always it was a sell-out and a very enjoyable evening. We had a delicious Scottish-themed dinner followed by the usual speeches and a raffle in aid of Clippesby Church.
Our Aberdonian kiltie, Donald Blair, addressed the haggis and John Carter 'piped' it in on his keyboard. The proposers of toasts were as eloquent as ever, Ron Lindsay proposed the toast to 'The Immortal Memory' in the novel form of a quiz and Chris Wallace toasted 'The Lassies' with Pam Spychal responding. Sara and Jane's 'Scottish Raffle' raised £140.00 for the Church. Altogether a jolly and successful evening.
